An engagement ring for a princess
Nick’s girlfriend had been dreaming about this ring for years. Together we made sure that her marriage proposal was accompanied by the maximum amount of bling. From Pinterest-photo to reality: a cushion-cut diamond in a halo of… more diamonds.
Nick opened his laptop and showed me his girlfriend’s wedding Pinterest page. Shoes, cakes, flowers, dresses. This woman knew what she wanted and a modest engagement ring was not part of it. Bold and brilliant is what it should be, because that is how she prefers to live.
Centered on the page was the ring. Finding this exact same ring in a jewellery shop in Amsterdam was going to take Nick a lot of time, and money. I put my diamond dealer to work to find a nice cushion cut diamond of about 1 carat, a week later some of which were lying before us and choosing THE one was not difficult (a diamond must be seen with your own eyes!).
The choice between three sketches for the design was also quite easy and we thought well about the colour. We went to see the different types of rose gold (14 and 18 carat) in the sunlight at the goldsmith’s.
Nick’s fiancé was over the moon. The ring was finished in time, within the budget, and it was stunning beyond expectation!
